Paul Stebbings

Born in Nottingham, Paul lives in Munich and is a British and German citizen.

Education: First class degree Bristol, University Drama Department.

Artistic Director of TNT Theatre, Artistic Director of the American Drama Group Europe

Associate director of Teatro Espressivo de Costa Rica, 

Regular director at Shanghai Dramatic Arts Centre

 

Formerly artistic director of South Yorkshire theatre workshop and

Awards include Arts Achievement Award Singapore, Shanghai Comedy Festival, Dawn Arts Festival Tehran, Government of Costa Rica, Munich Biennale, Edinburgh Festival 5 stars, Ministry of Culture of Peru Lifetime Achievement Award and medal of inception into the order of the British Empire (MBE) at Buckingham Palace in the Queen's Birthday honours list 2014

As an actor Paul has performed for over 20 years in leading roles across the world

Paul has directed in English, Spanish, Mandarin, Shanghaiese, French, Russian, Arabic, Greek, German and an invented sound-scape language

As a playwright, usually working with Dramaturg Phil Smith, Paul has written over thirty professionally performed plays ranging from the original TNT production HARLEQUIN (1980) - a commedia dell 'arte about Meyerhold, Stanislavski, Stalin and the failure of artistic and political Revolution - to the recent FREE MANDELA, the struggle against apartheid from both Nelson and Winnie Mandelas perspective (2019-20)
